The National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is a national level entrance exam conducted by the NITs. This entrance exam is conducted every year for interested graduates to be offered admission into Masters in Computer Application (MCA)Programme in the participating NITs . Candidates qualifying for the NIMCET 2023 exam with a good rank, will be allotted seats at various campuses of NITs on the basis of their ranks. Every year the number of applications received for the NIMCET exam is around 50,000 students whereas approximately 805 seats are offered in 11 NITs (Number vary year to year) across India. Many universities and institutes other than NITs consider NIMCET scores for admissions to the MCA programmes offered by them.

The authority will release the NIMCET 2024 exam dates tentatively in February 2024. The NIMCET 2024 exam is expected to be conducted in June 2024. The application form will be released tentatively in March 2024. Candidates will be able to access the NIMCET 2024 application form from the official website, nimcet.in. Nimcet Eligibility Criteria
The NIMCET Eligibility Criteria are prescribed by NITs responsible for conducting the exam. The candidate must satisfy the eligibility requirement prescribed by the official authorities to appear in the exam. The detailed information about NIMCET 2023 eligibility has been given below-
Education Qualification :
1. Those candidates must have any degree with mathematics/ statistics for a minimum of 3 years full time or B.E / B.Tech or some equivalent exam from a recognized University will be able to apply for the NIMCET 2023 examination.
2. Candidates who have completed their B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons)/ BCA/ BIT for 3 years from Open Universities will also be able to apply for the examination.
Appearing :
Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying exam will also be able to apply for the examination.
Minimum Marks Required :
Indian National Applicants required to have attained at least 60% as aggregate or 6.5/10 CGPA and 55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST will also be applied for the examination.
Age :
There is no age limit to apply for NIMCET. Candidates of any age can apply and appear in the NIMCETs exam.
Nimcet Exam Pattern
The NIMCET exam pattern describes the type and pattern of questions to be asked in the upcoming entrance exam. NIMCET exam is conducted in online (CBT) mode. The question paper will be in English language only and will contain 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of maximum 480 Marks in total.Time given for Attempting the paper is 2 hours

Nimcet Councelling
Candidates willing to participate in the NIMCET Counselling process will have to apply online mode. The NIMCET Counselling is Usually held in June Month. Seats will be allotted on the basis of the rank scored by the candidates, preferred choices filled by the candidates, and availability of seats. Only those candidates who are successful in qualifying for the entrance exam will be permitted to fill in the choices of the institution where they are seeking admission.
