NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) is an entrance examination in
India for students who have completed their medical degree and wish to pursue postgraduate
studies in various medical and dental programs. It is conducted by the
National Board of Examinations (NBE) . NEET PG is a standardized test that assesses
the eligibility and aptitude of candidates for admissions to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in medical
institutions across the country. The exam is an essential step for medical professionals aiming

Academic qualifications: Indian students
1. Candidate must have an MBBS degree or provisional certificate recognized in accordance with theIndian Medical Council Act, 1956
2. Candidate must possess a provisional or permanent registration certificate of MBBS issued by theState Medical Council or Medical Council of India
3. Candidate should have at least one year of work experience and possess the internship certificate that is completed before the announced timeline
Academic qualifications: Foreign students
1. Foreign candidates who apply for the NEET PG exam under the Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG) quota must qualify for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by NBE Foreign students must register themselves under the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council
2. Foreign medical graduates need to furnish an internship certificate specified by the NBE Detailed information regarding the eligibility criteria of the NEET PG exam can be found on the official website of NBE
Age limit
As of now, there are no specific guidelines for the NEET PG age limit. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria including the academic and state quota eligibility can apply for the exam.
Eligibility: State quota
1. Candidates who belong to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply for seats under the All India Quota of NEET PG exam
2. Candidates who are allotted government medical colleges and belong to Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh can apply under the All India 50% quota
3. Candidates who hold an MBBS degree from the state of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir need to furnish a duly signed affidavit stating that the candidate has secured the college through centralised counselling, along with a hard copy of the confirmation of submission of the NEET PG application form
Language: The NEET PG exam question paper is set in the English language only
Frequency of Exam : Once a Year
Mode of exam: The exam will be conducted in online mode. It is a computer-based examination
Time duration: Candidates will be given 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the paper
Questions: There will be 200 questions in the paper
Question type: The questions will be multiple choice questions (MCQ)
Total marks: The total marks that can be obtained by the candidate is 800 marks
Marking scheme: There is negative marking for every wrong answer. The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer. One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Questions unanswered will fetch zero marks

NEET PG 2024 application form will be made available only on the official website of NBE - nbe.edu.in.
NEET PG registration process involves 5 basic steps:
1. Visit nbe.edu.in and enter basic details to generate NEET PG login credentials.
2. Fill the required personal and academic details in NEET PG 2024 application form.
3. Select NEET PG exam center preference from the list of 260+ test cities.
4. Upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature, and thumb impression in .jpg/ .jpeg format.
5. Pay NEET PG 2024 exam fee online through net banking or debit card or credit card.

1. Register for Counselling:
Visit the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website
Register for the appropriate counselling round (All India Quotas or State Counselling) based on your preferences.
Pay the registration fee and upload necessary documents.
2. Choose Your Colleges:
Research and shortlist colleges(44) offering your preferred specialty and consider factors like location, reputation, and facilities.
Use official websites and college predictor tools to estimate your chances of admission based on your rank and college preferences.
Prioritize your choices and arrange them in order of preference during the counselling rounds.
3. Participate in Counselling Rounds:
Attend all allocated counselling rounds and report at designated centers (if applicable).
During each round, you'll receive options based on your rank and available seats.
Carefully review the options and make informed decisions, accepting or rejecting seats as per your preferences.
Keep track of updated vacancies and cut-offs during each round.
4. Download Provisional Allotment Letter:
If you receive a seat allotment in any round, download the provisional allotment letter from the MCC website.
Report to the allotted college within the stipulated timeframe with the required documents for verification and admission formalities.
5. Complete Admission Formalities:
Submit all necessary documents at the allotted college for completing admission formalities.
Pay college fees and register for the course.
Get your hostel allocation (if applicable) and settle into your new environment
